Description
Cabernet Sauvignon — from the Pool Block at 650 feet of elevation and the Lost Orchard vineyard at 800 feet — was blended with 15% Merlot from the Lost Vineyard block to produce this bright and supple, terroir-driven wine in the classic style. Winemaker Diana Seysses describes the ’17 Ranch as perfect in proportion, precision and weight. Wine writer Antonio Galloni calls it gracious, with lovely aromatics and a core of sweet red berry fruit — fruit which was all in the cellar before the 2017 fires broke out, fermented using native, wild yeasts, and aged for 17 months in French oak before being bottled, unfiltered and unfined, in April, 2019 — 1,008 cases produced. -Winery
