The 2018 Andronicus is a wine that well represents the Bordeaux Blend profile that this program exemplifies. Aromatics of concentrated raspberry, chocolate dust and crushed flower petal are followed by a flavor profile of spiced fruit, raspberry compote and hints of vanilla and crème brulee. As is customary, the concentrated mid-palate and round tannins make this wine delicious upon release, while giving it the ageability one would expect from a fine Napa Valley blend. – Winery

Bruno established himself in Saumur-Champigny in 2002. He immediately began to convert the vineyards to organics in 2002, and converted completely to 100% organics in 2004. In 2012 the vineyards were certified EcoCert and certified Demeter biodynamic 2015. Before landing in Saumur-Champigny, Dubois worked in the cellar and vineyards of the late Marcel Lapierre in Villié-Morgon. The stewardship of the land and steadfast passion for organics and non-interventionist winemaking he learned from Lapierre translated perfectly to the soil and climate of his home village. Dubois’ philosophy in the cellar is to produce wines with as little human interference as possible, native fermentation, no pumping, light extraction, no added sulfites (except for the white). The result is a transparent expression of the grapes that hold the integrity and history of Saumur-Champigny.

This wine appears rich, opaque ruby in the glass, with matching rich aromas of crème de cassis, fresh espresso, vanilla bean, and ripe blackberry. Toasty, spicy notes of cedar come through as well. On the palate, the wine offers flavors of blackberry, raspberry, black cherry, and cocoa powder, and has a soft yet firm tannic structure, with subtly gripping tannins that beg for grilled meats. The finish is long and expressive, with spiced fruit flavors lingering endlessly. – Winery

This blend is unique because we used only French Clone varieties for the Merlot, Cab Franc and Cab Sauv. We grow multiple clones of each varietal and we think that these specific clones show off the most complexity and depth. A vineyard that is consistently getting better with age and showing the true potential of the Yakima Valley AVA. The 2015 vintage was the warmest vintage to date, with above average temperatures across the Columbia Valley. These warm temps led to an advancement of the growing season, leading to a harvest almost 2 weeks ahead of any recent years. Very warm temperatures starting in the spring and continuous through July/August, led into cooler temperatures in September allowing phenolic ripeness to catch up. Despite the heat, the wines from this vintage ended up with great fruit characteristics while maintaining excellent structure and focus. -Winery

The 2015 Le Bon Pasteur is a powerful, resonant wine. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice and mocha speak with a strong voice in this rich, textured Pomerol. There is not a whole lot of subtlety here. Even so, all the elements are nicely fused together. This flamboyant Pomerol should drink well for the next 10-15 years, perhaps more.

NOT MEVUSHAL Yarden Mount Hermon was produced from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a small amount of Cabernet Franc, all grown in the Golan Heights. The cool climate, rocky volcanic soil and high altitude are ideal conditions for growing classic wine grape varieties. Moderately early pressing yields a wine with good color and ample fruit that can be enjoyed without extensive aging. To preserve the quality of the wine, this bottle should be stored on its side in a cool, dark place. Best served at 55-60 degrees. -Winery

The vineyard of Chateau Roc de Segur was totally replanted since 1990.
