The NV Rivesaltes Ambré Hors d’Age 6 Ans has a vibrant, light amber/whiskey color to go with sweet notes of golden raisins, bitter orange, almond and subtle browned sugar. Made from 100% Grenache Blanc and aged six years in barrel, it’s medium-bodied, silky, seamless and layered. It lacks complexity and is slightly straightforward with its sweetness, yet it’s never cloying and is one sexy drink.

From the Midi wine region, Saint Roch vielles vignes white wine blend is fantastic value under $20. The 80% Grenache Blanc 20% Roussanne wine blend is aromatic with ripe pear, melon and pineapple on the nose. This wine is dry, medium bodied well-balanced and structured finishing with good acidity for food. Chill and enjoy with fresh steamed lobster tails in a light garlic butter sauce.

Clear eggshell colour with lilac edges. Appealing, delicate floral aromas with elderflower and may blossom tones. Nicely smooth and rounded mouth-feel with honey, acacia and lavender flavours. Lovely full liquorice finish. When the domaine was created « Les Galimardes » already existed. This area found to the south of the appellation has always been part of our family. Here we grow 100 year old Grenache, Syrah and several white varieties. Classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape terrain, it’s made up of big round pebbles on the surface that radiate gentle heat in the evening helping to concentrate the grapes. This cuvée is in our own image evoking a modern, vibrant and concentrated style: it promises rich powerful flavours. The white Galimardes has that unique pedigree intrinsic to great wines. – Winery

L’archiviste Rivesaltes 1979

This Rivesaltes 1979 was bottled exclusively for Martine’s Wines in celebration of their 40th Anniversary by Phillipe Gayral in December 2018. It was aged for the first 3 years in underground concrete tanks and then for 37 years in foudres, (large oak barrels) and was bottled straight from cask. Brilliant with desserts and cheese courses.
