The 2018 Andronicus is a wine that well represents the Bordeaux Blend profile that this program exemplifies. Aromatics of concentrated raspberry, chocolate dust and crushed flower petal are followed by a flavor profile of spiced fruit, raspberry compote and hints of vanilla and crème brulee. As is customary, the concentrated mid-palate and round tannins make this wine delicious upon release, while giving it the ageability one would expect from a fine Napa Valley blend. – Winery

Our ‘Three Acre’ Cabernet Sauvignon showcases how stunning Napa Valley mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon can be. The rising star in David’s vineyard, Clone 337, thrives above the fogline at over one thousand feet above the valley floor. Extended hours of sunlight give these grapes the opportunity to express the inherent ripe-fruit characteristics while the small, thick skinned berries give us a high ratio of skins to must during the maceration and fermentation process. Twenty months in blue-chip French Oak barrels gives this wine the opportunity to express a wide range of baking spices and aromatics. The resulting wine is fullbodied, fruit-expressive and bold with gripping tannins that offer a seemingly never-ending finish. This wine would pair beautifully with a butter-basted rib-eye steak and your best friend’s company! A deep, dense, ruby-violet color offers the nose a broad spectrum of earthy spice notes with lightly toasted oak, vanilla bean and baking spices followed by black cherry and raspberry, rose petals and hints of citrus rind. The palate is focused, yet broad, with chewy fine-grained tannins and flavors of cherry fruit cake, cassis and cocoa nibs. Best from 2018 to 2030. – Winery

A region typically known for Cabernet and Merlot, Grattamacco sets itself apart from surrounding wineries with its winemaking practices using 15% Sangiovese to impart quality and elegance in its wines. Grattamacco was not only the first winery in Bolgheri to use Sangiovese because of its high altitude despite its proximity to the coast, but also the first to plant Vermentino.
